Lots of today's practicioners of fighting systems learn or teach that long-range fighting (such as kickboxing) is not effective against someone with some training in grappling arts. That's why clinching moves like elbow strikes are of utmost importance - they're a middle ground between stand-up fighting and groundfighting, wrestling, or clinch techniques. A bit of news, after 36 years of training with the Fellowship I was deeply honoured three years ago to be appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors.
